I'm Bored!

Five things I'm bored with...

1. Listening to VH1's Neo-Soul station. If I hear another Brand New Heavies or Dionne Farris song I'll cut my 'fro! I swear I'll do it!
Answer to boredom: I'm listening to the World Music station now. Caetano Veloso is doing some Spanish, jazzy shit right now that is hot. I wish I knew what he was saying.

2. My hair. I have two hairstyles: an afro with a scarf around it and an afro with a headband...but the afro is so big (or my head, I don't know) that the headbands keep breaking.
Answer to boredom: I want to press my hair out, but I just started an extensive workout plan and I don't know how long it will last. Maybe after I lose some weight, I'l treat myself to a press n curl. Until then...looks like I'll be twisting it up over the weekend.

3. My job. Even though I'm busy as hell at work, I'm busy as hell behind a desk! I wish I could be out and about more...
Answer to boredom: I'm looking for some opportunities near the beach. What beach you ask? Virginia Beach, silly! Anyone nead a writer, publicist or communications specialist?

4. Being in love. Well, being in love with no payoff. It's kind of like buying into a pyramid scheme and waiting for your $1,000 to come and it never does. My expectations are so high...ALL the time. But I'm a Cancer and an artist, what's a girl to do? Am I doomed to writing the same poems, songs and stories about a million different men for the rest of my life?
Answer to boredom: Get a guitar and write some love songs. Finding someone to love me for me is totally out of the question...where would my art be then?

5. Watching TV. I know, last week or so I wrote about staying in and watching TV. And I am loving the new seasons to all my favorite shows. BUT...a chick needs a little nightlife.
Answer to boredom: I'll be at the Cove on Friday and the Gallery Hop on Saturday before watching the Roy Jones fight at my boy's house.

6. Writing. It happens. My topics are limited because my human interaction has been limited.
Answer to boredom: FInd some humans to interact with.

I refuse to believe that. Sometimes that person is only me, sometimes it isn't even me but I still have to believe.

Yeah, but the opposite sex is a constant priority that I think will take care of itself if I ever stop being so preoccupied with it, you know. I looovvee me, I'm the bomb, so my true boredome is still relative...

Wow. I just finished reading the Cancer profile--Cancer that I am--and yo! The first sentence got me.

"Cancer is the least defined out of all the signs of the zodiac.."

Yo. That is so on point. I read somewhere previously that Cancers are the most likely to be misunderstood. Uh, tell me about it! I'm still reeeling. Ima' get back to your post in a few!
